Acme-Hardesty Announces New Business Unit – Life Sciences
Acme-Hardesty, a division of Jacob Stern and Sons, Inc. is an industry leader in sustainable specialty ingredients. Over the past 4 years, Acme-Hardesty has been on a significant growth journey. As this journey continues, Acme-Hardesty has formed a new Strategic Business Unit (SBU) under the name Life Sciences. This new Strategic Business Unit will focus specifically on several new and expanding market segments including:
- Nutritional Supplements
- Food & Beverage
- Animal Feed & Supplements
- Pharmaceutical Ingredients
“We have found significant success since we have developed a focused market segment strategy, such as our Personal Care Business Unit that was launched in January 2018. With our new Life Sciences Business Unit, we will leverage our organizational systems, technology platforms, and supply chains enabling us to deliver even greater value to our customers within this market segment,” said Jeff Kenton, President, Acme-Hardesty.
Leading our new Life Sciences Business Unit will be Brian McGrath as Vice President of Life Sciences, who joined the company in October 2021. Brian has over 30 years of experience in the specialty chemicals space and has held numerous global leadership positions in business, sales, and supply chain management. Brian has a proven history of transforming organizations and delivering differential results in several specialty chemical industry segments including Pharmaceuticals, Personal Care and Nutrition.
“We will initially focus our sales efforts on our current product offerings including materials such as MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides), glycerine, proteins, botanicals, prebiotics and natural sweeteners while we expand into other product platforms through new product introductions, principal partnerships and business development opportunities,” said Brian McGrath. “We will continue to grow our Life Sciences portfolio as an innovative supplier of sustainable, renewable and bio-based solutions”.
